Indiana State Math Contest |
There are five mathematics problem-solving tests.
Each contains 36 to 40 multiple-choice questions; 90 minutes are allowed for
students to work with the test. The categories are: Pre-Algebra, Algebra First
Course/Integrated Math I, Geometry/Integrated Math II, Algebra Second
Course/Integrated Math III, and Comprehensive. Questions for the first four
categories may be related to the content identified in the Indiana Mathematics
Proficiency Guide, the Core 40 Math competencies in the obvious ways, or
included in State-approved textbooks. The content of the Comprehensive category
is drawn from pre-calculus mathematics including trigonometry, finite
mathematics, simple linear algebra, probability, statistics, and analytic
geometry.

Franklin College High School Mathematics Day |
Math Day at
Franklin College consists of two competitions. The Scholarship Division is a
multiple choice exam open to non-seniors; each school may enter one team of
up to three students. Scholarships to Franklin College will be given to the
top individual award winners, and plaques will be given to the top-scoring
teams. The Polya Division is open to seniors only and consists of six
"mini-competitions", which are challenging mathematical problems requiring
teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skill. Awards will be given to the
top teams in each mini-competition as well as to the overall winners. Also
featured during the day are chances for students and teachers to interact
with Franklin College mathematics and computing faculty and students as well
as student-oriented mathematical talks.

MAA American Mathematics
Competitions |
The American
Mathematics Competitions are a program of The Mathematical Association of
America. We seek to increase interest in mathematics and to develop problem
solving ability through a series of interesting mathematics contests given
at your school. Our goal is to identify, recognize and reward excellence in
mathematics through these contests: the American Mathematics Contest 8
(AMC8), American Mathematics Contest 10 (AMC10), American Mathematics
Contest 12 (AMC12), American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME),
and the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO). We also
hold the 3-4 week Mathematical Olympiad Summer Program (MOSP) for qualified
students, and prepare and send the US team to the International Mathematical
Olympiad (IMO) each summer.
